One big check mark on the never ending "to do" list: Invitations are done and done

Wedding invitations are out the door.  Technically they went out last week but this is the first time I have had the opportunity to brag about this feat.  Holy moses we didn't have a lot to assemble but without Katie and Mom that would have taken me all weekend.  Thanks guys for the assistance!  It feels like a big accomplishment.  Now I check the mail EVERYDAY for RSVP cards.  Fun times!

Besides the invitations we are just finalizing details.  We picked up Tom's ring and he won't stop wearing it around the house.    Cute man!  Katie has been on top of it with rentals.  I'm talking spread sheets, price itemization and a verbal pro/con break down of each location.  That was great!  Her maid of honor dress is at the bridal salon ready for pick up!  Mine should be following hers shortly.  We have started suit shopping for Tom.  I have to remember to not be so opinionated in this process.  He's been a sport about me taking over most details of the wedding.  The suit and the music are his domain.  He's got good taste- I'm sure he'll pick out an excellent suit.  Mom and Katie found some gorgeous french lace online for my shrug/jacket-thing.  It's double embroidered Alencon lace and it's to die for.  I'm meeting the seamstress on Saturday.  Now it's just getting all of the details together- that is in between the trips to Sargent.  Boy the Movie Manor and I have become good friends.  It is a Best Western hotel on a drive in theater lot in Monte Vista CO.  You can watch the movie from your window and turn on the speaker in your room to pick up the sound.  If anyone drives through Alamosa area- it's a great place to take the kiddos.

Besides the wedding we are trying to fit in some "normal" activities.  Next Sunday we are having everyone over for the draft.  It's fantasy football time!  Stoked!  Time for team Red Devils to dominate!  The following weekend Katie's coming up to help us with cleaning etc... I have to get out in the backyard to battle the weeds.  Seriously they have been brutal this year!

Well I need to sign off because I'm off bright and early tomorrow to guess where... you got it...Sargent Schools.  Luckily we are wrapping up the renovation on the elementary school this week.  Teachers will be in rooms tomorrow.  Time for punch list.  It's my very first punch list- should be a good learning experience.  Cheers!

ps.  40 days to the wedding

Our lovely invitations

RSVP postcard

All assembled invitations bundled
and ready to mail out.  Also featured
milk glass for the centerpieces.

The envelope and invitation were brought to fruition by Alli at Birddog Press.  The calligraphy was completed by Kelle at Designs Girl.  The RSVP cards are vintage postcards of Denver and surrounding Colorado areas that I have been collecting for the past year.  I'm in love with the invitation and envelopes!  I've already received multiple compliments on Kelle's fabulous calligraphy design- which makes me regret not having her write up our married name in her fancy hand.  RSVP accepts/regrets boxes are a big hit- I've already received a cheeky "accepts with regret"
