A new year, a new name, a new life (sort of), a new surprise...

(from 1-17-11)  2011 started off a little shaky.  The dog got into ALL of the fudge I made for christmas.  I'm talking a full batch of semi-sweet, marshmallow cream, butter, sugar and nuts.  Not good.  We spent most of the night in the doggie ER and then went back again because she was having trouble walking and was shaking.  Turns out she developed a heart arrythmia to go along with her already troubled heart.  They also had to treat her for severe dehydration.  So $1100 later we brought her home a little better but not 100%.  Our poor dog.  Then she developed a kidney infection and back we went for another visit to the vet.  Most recently she's been having sneezing episodes and last night she had a stroke.  I guess strokes aren't as damaging to dogs as they are to humans- they have a quicker recovery rate.  She seems to be doing better today but I think it's a good idea for us to be grateful for everyday we have with her- I'm not sure how much longer her heart can take all of these medical problems.

I start my classes this week.  I'm excited and scared.  It's been a while since I've had homework.  I'm looking forward to expanding my mind and learning new things.

I thought I had thank you notes ready to go out in the mail but I have to wait on them.  Sorry.  I also didn't get Christmas cards in the mail this year.  I really have an excellent excuse but I can't elaborate on that right now...

Secrets!  Fun!  I promise to divulge more information in February.  To be continued...
